The word RELIGION comes from the Latin re-ligare, or to bind.
Initially used to identify monks bound together as a community, the meaning has expanded
to identify people bound by a specific code of beliefs, ethics or dogmas.
Do these differences have to be in opposition to each other?
Is the American experiment an opportunity to allow and to promote the best in each different religion without defaming any? Also, might a healthy respect for the tenets of each religion allow human consciousness to identify “false prophets” who use religion as a weapon? This does not have to be if people of all faiths and traditions choose to accept differences, and allow others the freedom to be recognized as children of God.
